Wayne State President Stepping Down
(2007-09-27)
(wgvu) - Irvin Reid's decade-long tenure as president of
Wayne State University will end next year.
Reid says he plans to step down in May.
He became the 33,000-student Detroit school's ninth president in
1997.
Over the past 10 years, Wayne State built the 43-acre TechTown
research development park, and worked with developers on
residential properties around the school's campus just north of
downtown Detroit.
Reid says he may remain at Wayne State as part of the faculty,
an option included in his contract.
