Wayne State Receives Gift
combining to donate nearly 408 million dollars in software and
technology to Wayne State University.
The gift of modeling and simulation tools is expected to allow
engineering students to use the same technology that major
companies employ and compete for high tech jobs.
School president Irvin Reid says Wayne State will use the
equipment to train students in engineering, manufacturing and
design needed in a global marketplace.
Joining GM in the philanthropic effort are E-D-S,
Hewlett-Packard, Siemens U-G-S P-L-M Software, and Sun
Microsystems.
Wayne State is the 41st school to receive a technology donation
of technology from the companies.
