Children's Insurance MICHIGAN (wgvu) - Thirty governors are urging the Bush
administration to roll back changes that limit the scope of a
popular children's health insurance program.
New York Governor Eliot Spitzer and California Governor Arnold
Schwarzenegger are leading the effort.
Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm also has joined.
Spitzer, a Democrat, and Schwarzenegger, a Republican, say the
new rules unfairly restrict states from providing health insurance
to children.
Under new guidelines issued in August, when states expand
eligibility to higher-income children, they must show they have
enrolled at least 95 percent of eligible poor children in public
health programs.
