Hair Donation
(2007-09-17)
(wgvu) - A 44-year-old woman, her two adult
sisters and their ponytailed father have donated their long hair to
a program that helps children who have lost their own hair.
The Locks of Love program gets most of its donations from other
sympathetic children.
Tina Ketchmark of Swartz Creek near Flint said the idea of
giving up her waist-length hair came two months ago.
She says it grew to include her father and adult sisters.
Locks of Love makes hairpieces for children who have lost their
hair because of burns, cancer treatments or autoimmune disease.
