Bush Praises West Michigan Soldier
(2007-09-14)
(wgvu) - President Bush praised a West Michigan soldier
killed in Baghdad in his address outlining his strategy to reduce
U.S. forces in Iraq.
Speaking tonight from the Oval Office, Bush mentioned Army
Specialist Brandon Stout of Kent City. The 23-year-old died January
22nd when his vehicle struck an explosive in the Iraqi capital.
Bush said Stout's family has (-quote-) "suffered greatly. Yet
in their sorrow, they see larger purpose."
The president added (-quote-) "This country is blessed to have
Americans like Brandon Stout, who make extraordinary sacrifices to
keep us safe from harm. They are doing so in a fight that is just,
and right, and necessary."
Stout was attached to the Kingsford-based 46th Military Police
Company.
