(wgvu) - THE STATE HOUSE HAS PASSED LEGISLATION
64-42 THAT WOULD LET SCHOOLS AND LOCAL GOVERNMENTS POOL THEIR
WORKERS' HEALTH COVERAGE TO SAVE MONEY.
THE MEASURE IS DIFFERENT FROM A SENATE-APPROVED VERSION.
REPUBLICANS WHO RUN THE SENATE AND DEMOCRATS WHO RUN THE HOUSE
DISAGREE OVER OPENING UP THE CLAIMS STATISTICS OF AN INSURER LINKED
TO THE STATE'S LARGEST TEACHERS UNION.
DEMOCRATS WANT CLAIMS DATA FROM THE MICHIGAN EDUCATION
ASSOCIATION TO BE AVAILABLE BY REGIONS, WHILE REPUBLICANS WANT THE
DATA AVAILABLE FOR EACH SCHOOL DISTRICT.
