THAT SUED TO CHANGE THE SCHEDULING OF PREP SPORTS SEASONS IN
MICHIGAN ARE SEEKING $5 MILLION IN FEES.
THEY FILED THEIR BILLS THIS WEEK IN U.S. DISTRICT COURT.
KRISTEN GALLES WAS THE LEAD LAWYER IN COMMUNITIES FOR EQUITY'S
FEDERAL LAWSUIT AGAINST THE MICHIGAN HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC
ASSOCIATION. THE ALEXANDRIA, VIRGINIA, WOMAN STANDS TO RECEIVE $3.4
MILLION.
THE MHSAA HAS $2 MILLION IN INSURANCE POLICIES COVERING ITS
LEGAL EXPENSES, WITH THE BALANCE GOING TO OPPOSING LAWYERS. THE
ASSOCIATION MUST SHOULDER ANY REMAINING COSTS.
MHSAA ATTORNEY ED SIKORSKY TELLS THE GRAND RAPIDS PRESS HE'LL
REVIEW THE FEE REQUESTS.
