Body of Michigan man missing since 2005 found in river
(2007-09-06)
(wgvu) - BIG RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) - Forensic dentists have identified a
body pulled from the Muskegon River.
Twenty-eight-year-old Andrew Hodges of Rodney disappeared nearly
two years ago after jumping into the river while fleeing police.
The Pioneer reports that Hodges was last seen alive on November
27th, 2005, when he jumped into the water from a city bridge while
running from police officers from Big Rapids and Ferris State
University.
They were chasing him because he failed to pay for some fuel
that he pumped at a gas station.
A canoeist discovered Hodges' submerged remains over the weekend
in Mecosta County's Big Rapids Township. His body was identified
this week.
