Western Michigan police officer shot

(wgvu) - SHELBY, Mich. (AP) - A police officer in western Michigan was
hit at least twice during a shootout early today.
Sergeant Chuck Schultz's injuries aren't believed to be
life-threatening.
Schultz is a 25-year veteran of the Shelby Police Department.
Authorities say he was investigating suspicious activity outside
a restaurant when he got into a shootout with one or more suspects.
Schultz was taken to a Muskegon hospital after being shot in the
chest and leg.
Shelby police and the Oceana County sheriff's office are
investigating.
