SMALL PLANE CRASH
(2007-09-05)
(wgvu) - THE U.S. COAST GUARD SAYS DIVERS
HAVE RECOVERED THE BODY OF A MAN WHO PILOTED A PLANE THAT CRASHED
INTO LAKE ERIE LAST NIGHT OFF KELLEYS ISLAND.
THE BODY OF 46-YEAR-OLD JEFF HUTCHISON WAS FOUND NEAR THE
WRECKAGE OF THE CESSNA AIRCRAFT SHORTLY AFTER 8 P.M. TUESDAY.
HUTCHISON HAD BEEN PILOTING THE PLANE WITH HIS TWO YOUNG SONS
ABOARD WHEN IT CRASHED AFTER TAKEOFF. HIS 7-YEAR-OLD SON ESCAPED
THE WRECKAGE AND SURVIVED, AND THE BODY OF HIS 9-YEAR-OLD SON WAS
RECOVERED TUESDAY.
A RESCUER PULLED THE 7-YEAR-OLD INTO A ROWBOAT AFTER THE CRASH.
THE BOY WAS TAKEN TO A TOLEDO HOSPITAL AND IS IN FAIR CONDITION.
