(wgvu) - A HUGE TOXIC CHEMICAL SPILL IN SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN...FORCES EVACUATIONS. POLICE IN THE DETROIT SUBURB OF WIXOM SAY UP TO 7,000 GALLONS OF
NITRIC ACID SPILLED AT A CHEMICAL PLANT, FLOWING INTO A PARKING LOT AND
CREATING A TOXIC PLUME.
IT HAPPENED TUESDAY, THE RESULT OF SOME KIND OF MALFUNCTION AT TRONEX CHEMICAL
CORPORATION.
TWO WORKERS WENT TO THE HOSPITAL AFTER INHALING FUMES.
DOZENS OF BUSINESSES WERE EVACUATED, BUT NO HOMES, BECAUSE THE AREA IS MAINLY INDUSTRIAL.
