MAN DUBBED 'RADIOACTIVE BOY SCOUT' PLEADS GUILTY IN THEFT

MOUNT CLEMENS, MICH. (AP) - A MAN WHO BECAME THE SUBJECT OF A
BOOK CALLED "THE RADIOACTIVE BOY SCOUT" AFTER TRYING TO BUILD A
NUCLEAR REACTOR AS A TEENAGER HAS PLEADED GUILTY IN A THEFT CASE.
THIRTY-ONE-YEAR-OLD DAVID HAHN HAD BEEN CHARGED IN THE THEFT OF
16 SMOKE DETECTORS IN MACOMB COUNTY.
INVESTIGATORS SAY HE MAY HAVE BEEN SEEKING RADIOACTIVE MATERIAL
FROM THE DETECTORS.
TODAY IN MOUNT CLEMENS, HE PLEADED GUILTY TO ATTEMPTED LARCENY
OF A BUILDING.
PROSECUTORS ARE RECOMMENDING THAT HE BE SENTENCED TO TIME SERVED
AND ENTER AN INPATIENT TREATMENT FACILITY.
