Fieger Indicted
former Jack Kevorkian lawyer Geoffrey Fieger (FY'-gur) is related
to today's resignation of U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales.
Gerry Spence represents Fieger in the federal case and says
Friday's indictment was Gonzales' last "politically pernicious"
act.
Members of Congress had been calling for Gonzales to step down
over the firings of a number of federal prosecutors.
Fieger had criticized Gonzales after the 10-count indictment was
unsealed.
He and his law partner, Vernon Johnson, face federal conspiracy
charges stemming from an alleged $127 thousand in illegal
contributions to the 2004 presidential campaign of Democrat John
Edwards.
Spence says he will file a motion tomorrow morning in Detroit to
dismiss the case.
