WEST NILE VIRUS,

(wgvu) - MICHIGAN HEALTH OFFICIALS TODAY SAID THEY
HAVE IDENTIFIED THE STATE'S FIRST HUMAN WEST NILE VIRUS CASE OF
2007.
A 25-YEAR-OLD OAKLAND COUNTY WOMAN WAS HOSPITALIZED IN MID-JULY
WITH SYMPTOMS ASSOCIATED WITH THE DISEASE.
STATE OFFICIALS SAY THEY CAN'T PREDICT HOW PROMINENT THE
MOSQUITO-BORNE VIRUS WILL BE IN MICHIGAN THIS YEAR.
LAST YEAR THE STATE HAD 55 WEST NILE CASES, INCLUDING SEVEN
DEATHS.
