(wgvu) - ) - AUTHORITIES SAY CRIMINAL CHARGES
MAY RESULT FROM THE WEDNESDAY DROWNING DEATHS OF TWO FIVE-YEAR-OLD
MUSKEGON TOWNSHIP GIRLS.
SERENITY STEPHENS AND COURTNEY OUDSEMA WERE FOUND SHORTLY BEFORE
2 P-M WEDNESDAY BY THE MOTHER OF ONE OF THE CHILDREN.
SHE HAD RETURNED TO THE MUSKEGON TOWNSHIP HOME WHERE AUTHORITIES
SAY AN ADULT MALE HAD BEEN SUPERVISING THE TWO COUSINS AND A
TWO-YEAR-OLD. THE WOMAN FOUND THE CHILDREN IN AN UNUSED BACKYARD
POOL FILLED WITH DEBRIS AND MURKY WATER.
AUTHORITIES SAY THE GIRLS WERE LIKELY IN THE POOL FOR AT LEAST
TWO HOURS. AUTOPSIES ARE EXPECTED.
