BOY DROWNS-UPDATE

DOUGLAS, MICH. (AP) - SEARCH TEAMS IN THE WATERS NEAR DOUGLAS
BEACH HAVE FOUND THE BODY OF A TEN-YEAR-OLD ILLINOIS BOY WHO
DROWNED IN CHOPPY WATERS YESTERDAY.
U-S COAST GUARD CREWS DISCOVERED LUKE LAUDOLFF OF BATAVIA AT
FIRST LIGHT. HIS BODY WAS LOCATED ABOUT THREE MILES SOUTH OF WHERE
HE WAS LAST SEEN IN LAKE MICHIGAN.
POLICE SAY THREE CHILDREN WERE SWIMMING TOGETHER WHEN LAUDOLFF
WAS HIT BY A HIGH WAVE. HE TRIED TO GRAB FOR HIS FRIENDS BUT WENT
UNDER.
THE OTHER TWO SWIMMERS MADE TO SHORE AND CALLED FOR HELP.
MORE THAN 50 RESCUE WORKERS, ALONG WITH TWO HELICOPTERS,
SEARCHED THE BOY FOR ABOUT THREE HOURS LAST NIGHT BEFORE RESUMING
THEIR SEARCH TODAY.
