Gov Appoints New Member to Public Service Commission
(2007-07-16)
(wgvu) - LANSING, Mich. (AP) - The board that regulates the state's
utilities likely soon will get a new member to replace outgoing
member J. Peter Lark.
Governor Granholm late last week appointed Steven Transeth to
the Michigan Public Service Commission. The Lansing man's
appointment stands unless rejected by the state Senate within 60
days.
Transeth was described as an independent in a press release from
the Democratic governor's office.
He most recently served as assistant director and legal counsel
for the nonpartisan Michigan Legislative Service Bureau.
Lark resigned from the commission to become general manager of
the Lansing Board of Water and Light.
