Alpena Soldier Dies in Iraq USA (wgvu) - ALPENA, Mich. (AP) - A 29-year-old Michigan soldier died of
wounds sustained from a land mine detonation during a patrol in
Iraq.
The military says Army Sergeant Allen A. Greka of Alpena died
Friday after being wounded in Jisr Diyala.
Greka is being remembered for his professionalism in his
military service. Steven Greka describes his son loved what he did
and enjoyed reading.
Allen Greka was assigned to the Third Battalion, First Cavalry
Regiment, Third Brigade Combat Team, Third Infantry Division at
Fort Benning (Georgia).
