Michigan and Florida Veterans Battle
(2007-07-03)
(wgvu) - A trademark dispute has sparked a battle
between a Michigan veterans group and a Florida veterans group it
accuses of improperly using its name.
Michigan-based Vietnam Combat Veterans Limited says
Florida-based Vietnam and All Veterans of Brevard has improperly
used its name, "The Moving Wall," on a commemorative coin it
sold. They say the Florida group has desecrated the names of
58-thousand soldiers honored on the Washington D-C memorial by
profiting from the name.
The Florida group says it has ceased is inadvertent use of the
name, claiming they made only 600 dollars from coin sales.
Both groups have built traveling replicas of the Vietnam
Veterans Memorial in Washington D-C.
