Ford, Chrysler join GM in group fighting greenhouse gas emissions
(2007-06-27)
(wgvu) - Ford and Chrysler are joining General Motors in
the United States Climate Action Partnership.
The alliance of big business and environmental groups want to
reduce greenhouse gases tied to global warming. It also says
mandatory emissions caps are needed to reduce the flow of carbon
dioxide and other heat-trapping gases into the atmosphere.
GM joined the coalition last month. Ford and Chrysler announced
their membership today.
Chrysler C-E-O Tom LaSorda says it's time for a national
approach to climate change where everyone takes action toward
reducing greenhouse emissions.
Ford C-E-O Alan Mulally (muh-LAHL'-lee) says his company has
been actively developing new vehicles to address the issue.
