(wgvu) - DETROIT (AP) - United Auto Workers President Ron Gettelfinger
credits General Motors for helping to reach a tentative
wage-concession deal for Delphi.
But Gettelfinger says Delphi's leaders are interested in
dragging out the bankruptcy and turning the Troy-based auto
supplier into a foreign company.
Gettelfinger made the comments during an interview on "The Paul
W- Smith Show" on W-J-R A-M in Detroit.
He would not offer details of the pact that was signed Friday by
Delphi and U-A-W leadership. Union members were expected to hear
details beginning today on the pact that requires their approval as
well as from a bankruptcy judge in New York.
Delphi spokesman Lindsey Williams says the company had no
comment on Gettelfinger's remarks.
