(wgvu) - A MUSKEGON COUNTY MAN'S PLANS FOR A
FOURTH OF JULY BLAST FIZZLED WHEN SHERIFF'S DEPUTIES SEIZED
6,700 POUNDS OF ILLEGAL FIREWORKS FROM HIS GARAGE.
DEPUTIES WERE CALLED TO MARK PRIEUR'S HOME EARLIER THIS MONTH
AFTER A NEIGHBOR COMPLAINED ABOUT NOISE FROM FIREWORKS. HE WAS
ARRAIGNED THURSDAY ON THREE MISDEMEANOR COUNTS OF POSSESSING
ILLEGAL FIREWORKS.
AUTHORITIES CONFISCATED ABOUT 800 POUNDS OF ILLEGAL FIREWORKS
FROM HIS GARAGE IN 2005 AFTER HE SOLD SEVEN DIFFERENT VARIETIES TO
AN UNDERCOVER FIRE OFFICER. HE PLEADED GUILTY TO ONE COUNT OF
ILLEGAL FIREWORKS POSSESSION AND WAS SENTENCED TO SIX DAYS IN JAIL,
TWO YEARS' PROBATION AND FINES.
