21ST CENTURY ISN'T LIKELY TO BE AS BLOODY AS THE PREVIOUS 100
YEARS.
NOTING THAT MILLIONS DIED DURING THE TWO WORLD WARS, THE
HOLOCAUST, THE KHMER ROUGE AND OTHER WARS AND POLITICAL ATROCITIES
-- HE SAYS IT WOULD TAKE A LOT OF VIOLENCE THIS CENTURY TO COME
CLOSE.
HE MADE THE PREDICTION DESPITE FEARS OF GLOBAL TERRORISM.
HIS REMARKS CAME IN A A KEYNOTE SPEECH DURING THE 20TH ANNUAL
DINNER OF THE ECONOMIC CLUB OF GRAND RAPIDS. HIS WIFE -- 2008
DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE SENATOR HILLARY RODHAM CLINTON --
WAS NOT AT THE EVENT.
BEFORE THE BLACK-TIE EVENT, ABOUT 10 PEOPLE STOOD OUTSIDE THE
ENTRANCE -- PROTESTING CLINTON'S APPEARANCE AS THE GUESTS ARRIVED.
