LAB SECURITY BREACH
(2007-06-15)
(wgvu) - SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - Two Democratic congressmen from Michigan
are criticizing security involving Los Alamos National Laboratory
in New Mexico.
Democrats John Dingell of Dearborn and Bart Stupak of Menominee
say officials with the contractor that runs Los Alamos sent
top-secret data on nuclear weapons through open e-mail networks.
It's the latest in a string of potentially dangerous security
breaches to come to light at the lab that was the birthplace of the
atomic bomb.
The National Nuclear Security Administration investigated the
security breach.
The agency rounded up laptop computers from board members of the
contractor -- Los Alamos National Security.
