GM Hydrogen Fuel
hydrogen-powered fuel-cell vehicles could be tested globally within
five or six years.
G-M vice president of research and development Larry Burns says
hydrogen vehicles will likely be mass produced before 20-20.
His prediction follows G-M's announcement this week that 500
fuel cell engineers and scientists were being moved from the
laboratory to production.
Burns says the organizational move is similar to one G-M made in
2003 when engineers working on hybrid gasoline-electric power
systems were moved to production. He says at the time G-M had no
hybrid models on the market. Today it has five.
