Human Trafficking MICHIGAN (wgvu) - Prosecutors in Michigan could get more
tools to fight human trafficking under legislation introduced today
in the state House.
Democrats said their bills go further than legislation passed in
the state last year.
The laws passed last year were designed to mirror federal
legislation.
The new Michigan bills would allow more seizure of assets of
human smuggling rings. That could allow more restitution for
victims who are forced into prostitution or forced labor.
It was unclear when the House might vote on the bills.
