LEVIN-FUEL ECONOMY USA (wgvu) - WASHINGTON (AP) - Michigan Senator Carl Levin says by tomorrow
he may offer an alternative vehicle fuel efficiency plan that the
auto industry will embrace.
Levin is among a group of Washington legislators trying to build
bipartisan support for a new approach. Automakers oppose the plan
currently being debated by the Senate.
Levin says Detroit automakers and Toyota will support an
alternative plan that is less stringent than the one currently
being debated.
