Hit and Run to Marine MICHIGAN (wgvu) - The driver in a hit-and-run accident that
killed a Marine veteran of the Iraq war who had recently finished
his five-year enlistment has received a one-year jail sentence.
Twenty-three-year-old Ricky Salas was killed January 13th while
walking along a road in Genesee County.
He'd lost control of his vehicle on the icy road while returning
from a friend's wedding reception.
Twenty-three-year-old Bryan Abbott of Clio pleaded guilty to
failing to stop at a deadly accident.
The judge also sentenced Abbott to six months on an electronic
tether and five years' probation.
