(wgvu) - - DIVERS WEDNESDAY HALTED THEIR SEARCH
DUE TO ROUGH WATERS IN LAKE MICHIGAN OFFSHORE FROM MILWAUKEE.
THEY'RE LOOKING FOR THE SIX VICTIMS AND DEBRIS IN THE CRASH OF A
UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN MEDICAL TRANSPORT PLANE.
HIGH WAVES ALSO BROUGHT DIVERS IN FROM THE LAKE EARLIER THAN
PLANNED YESTERDAY.
THE NATIONAL TRANSPORTATION SAFETY BOARD'S JOHN BRANNEN SAYS
INVESTIGATORS STILL HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO FIND MAJOR PIECES OF THE
WRECKAGE. HE SAYS THEY'VE FOUND SMALLER PIECES, LIKE THE BAGGAGE
DOOR AND CUSHIONS AND SEATS.
THE TWIN-ENGINE CESSNA CRASHED MONDAY AFTERNOON. FOUR TRANSPLANT
SPECIALISTS AND TWO PILOTS WERE RETURNING HOME TO MICHIGAN WITH A
DONOR ORGAN FOR A PATIENT AWAITING AN OPERATION.
