GM SHAREHOLDERS
(2007-06-04)
(wgvu) - WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - General Motors shareholders gather in
Wilmington, Delaware, tomorrow for their annual meeting.
They'll likely be happy that the company is profitable again but
wondering when it will ever make money in North America.
GM has cut seven (B) billion dollars in annual costs, eliminated
34-thousand hourly jobs and introduced 20 new models since November
2005.
The company earned 62 (M) million dollars in the first quarter.
But in North America, it lost an adjusted 85 (M) million
dollars.
G-M lost two (B) billion dollars in 2006 and ten-point-four (B)
billion in 2005.
