(wgvu) - DALLAS (AP) - Former superintendent of Detroit Public Schools
William Frederick Coleman the Third is one of three men named in a
federal indictment unsealed today.
Coleman is one of two former Dallas school district officials
accused of taking bribes from a Houston businessman. The company
was awarded nearly 40 (m) million in technology contracts.
Coleman recently served as the former deputy superintendent and
chief operating officer for Dallas schools.
The federal indictment claims Coleman and Ruben Bohuchot took
kickbacks to help win contracts for Micro Systems Engineering. The
company is owned by Frankie Wong.
Coleman, 52, was expected to surrender in Detroit later today.
He was replaced as superintendent in Detroit earlier this year.
