NISSAN-TESTING PRODUCTION
(2007-05-29)
(wgvu) - NISSAN'S NEW GLOBAL PRODUCTION ENGINEERING
CENTER HAS ALL THE BELLS AND WHISTLES OF A TYPICAL AUTO PLANT BUT
THE ROBOTS ARE THERE FOR TESTING PURPOSES ONLY.
THE NEW $42 MILLION CENTER JUST WEST OF TOKYO IS MEANT TO
ENSURE QUALITY REGARDLESS OF WHERE THE VEHICLES ARE BEING PRODUCED.
IT'S ALL PART OF NISSAN'S EFFORT TO WORK OUT POSSIBLE KINKS IN
GLOBAL PRODUCTION FOR 30 NEW MODEL LAUNCHES.
THE NEW MODELS ARE CRITICAL TO NISSAN'S ATTEMPT TO REVERSE ITS
SLIDING SALES. THE CENTER'S TESTS WILL BE APPLIED TO ALL FUTURE
PRODUCTION.
NISSAN RUNS 26 VEHICLE PLANTS AROUND THE WORLD.
