DISEASE.
THE RETAIL MOGUL AND PHILANTHROPIST ALSO IS GIVING ROYALTIES FROM HIS NEW BOOK TO SUPPORT RESEARCH LED B Y DR. EVA FELDMAN IN THE SCHOOL'S NEUROLOGY PROGRAM.
A-L-S CAUSES NERVE CELLS TO WEAKEN AND DIE. THE DISEASE SPECIFICALLY ATTACKS MOTOR NEURONS, WHICH TRANSMIT SIGNALS THROUGH
THE BODY THAT ALLOW IT TO MOVE. BASEBALL PLAYER GEHRIG DIED OF THE DISEASE IN 1941 AT THE AGE OF 37.
