MICHIGAN UNEMPLOYMENT

The state's unemployment rate was six-point-nine percent in
January, six-point-six percent in February and six and a half
percent in March.
In April, total employment fell by 53-thousand jobs. The state
lost four thousand construction jobs and four thousand government
jobs, but saw six thousand jobs added in leisure and hospitality
services.
A year ago, Michigan's unemployment rate was six-point-eight
percent.
The national unemployment rate for April was four and a half
percent.
