(wgvu) - ONE MICHIGAN SOLDIER IS UNACCOUNTED FOR
AND ANOTHER IS DEAD AFTER IRAQI INSURGENTS ATTACKED THEIR UNIT OVER
THE WEEKEND.
THE PENTAGON SAYS THE DEAD SOLDIER WAS 19-YEAR-OLD PRIVATE
DANIEL COURNEYA OF VERMONTVILLE.
IT SAYS THE FATE OF 19-YEAR-OLD PRIVATE BYRON FOUTY OF WATERFORD
IS UNKNOWN.
FOUR SOLDIERS DIED, BUT ONLY THREE HAVE BEEN POSITIVELY
IDENTIFIED.
THE PENTAGON HAS RELEASED THE NAMES OF FOUR SOLDIERS, ONE OF
WHOM IS BELIEVED TO BE DEAD AND THREE OF WHOM ARE BELIEVED TO HAVE
BEEN CAPTURED.
THE SEVEN WERE PART OF A UNIT FROM FORT DRUM, NEW YORK, THAT WAS
ATTACKED SATURDAY IN AL TAQA, NEAR BAGHDAD.
