PFIZER-MSU GIFT
(2007-05-09)
(wgvu) - HOLLAND, Mich. (AP) - The drug-maker Pfizer says it's giving
Michigan State University a drug research center in western
Michigan for use in applied biological research.
The 138-thousand-square-foot building in Holland will employ
about 100 people when it is fully operational.
The center is next to a now-closed Pfizer production plant.
Work at the Michigan State research site will concentrate on
finding economic uses for developments in biological research.
University officials say they expect the center to work in such
areas as bio-fuels and other agricultural and forest-based
products.
