(wgvu) - TRIPLE-A MICHIGAN SAYS THE AVERAGE PRICE
OF A GALLON OF SELF-SERVE REGULAR GASOLINE HAS SET A NEW ALL-TIME
HIGH FOR THE STATE.
THE AVERAGE PRICE JUMPED SLIGHTLY MORE THAN 21 CENTS DURING THE
PAST WEEK FOR A STATEWIDE AVERAGE OF THREE DOLLARS AND 19 CENTS.
THAT'S 34 CENTS PER GALLON HIGHER THAN A YEAR AGO AND SEVEN
CENTS MORE THAN THE PREVIOUS RECORD OF THREE DOLLARS AND 12 CENTS
SET LAST AUGUST SEVENTH.
THE DEARBORN-BASED AUTO CLUB SAYS THE METRO AREA WITH THE MOST
EXPENSIVE GASOLINE WAS LANSING-EAST LANSING.
AN AVERAGE GALLON THERE COST THREE DOLLARS AND 23 CENTS -- UP 26
CENTS FROM LAST WEEK.
THE PRICE IN THE DETROIT AREA WAS UP 19 CENTS TO THREE DOLLARS
AND 16 CENTS.
