Ted Heusel Dies
(wgvu) - An Ann Arbor-area broadcaster known for
his contributions to the radio talk show genre has died.
Theodore "Ted" Heusel (Hi-zul) died today at his home in Ann
Arbor following a battle with cancer.
He was 86.
In 1956, Heusel adopted the use of open telephone lines inviting
guests to participate frequently.
Hesuel was broadcasting on W-A-A-M in Ann Arbor until a few
weeks ago.
During his career, Heusel also worked at Ann Arbor-area radio
stations W-P-A-G and W-O-I-A. In 2004, he was inducted into the
Michigan Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame
