Taylor Memorial
(2007-04-26)
(wgvu) - A memorial service will be held tonight at
Taylor University to mark the first anniversary of a crash that
killed five people and resulted in two victims' identities being
mixed up for weeks.
Four students from the Indiana school and one staff member died
last April 26th when their van collided with a semitrailer truck.
Whitney Cerak of Gaylord (Michigan) was at first believed to be
among the dead. Authorities later said another crash victim in a
coma was actually Cerak.
Laura VanRyn of Caledonia (Michigan) was mistakenly listed as a
survivor.
The memorial takes place at seven p-m at the Rediger Chapel on
Taylor's Upland campus. Another memorial will be held tomorrow at
Taylor's Fort Wayne campus.
