Michigan Unemployment
(2007-04-26)
(wgvu) - Seasonally unadjusted unemployment rates
in 13 of Michigan's 17 labor markets dropped slightly in March.
Two regions reported jobless rate increases, while two saw no
change.
The downward trend had been noted earlier in the state's overall
unemployment rate.
Michigan's seasonally adjusted jobless rate dropped in March for
the third month in a row to six-and-a-half percent, the lowest
since October 2005.
That's according to the state Department of Labor and Economic
Growth.
Regional unadjusted jobless rates for March ranged from under
five percent in Ann Arbor to 12 percent in the northeast portion of
the Lower Peninsula.
All metropolitan areas saw the number of payroll jobs increase
last month.
