(wgvu) - SHANGHAI, China (Dow Jones/AP) - The chief operating officer of
the Chrysler Group says the unit's expansion plans outside North
America won't change if there's a sale.
C-O-O Eric Ridenour says Chrysler plans to double the number of
dealerships in China to 140 by the middle of 2008. He also says the
company will bring the Dodge Avenger to China early next year.
Chrysler sold about 207-thousand vehicles outside of the U-S
last year but only about ten thousand in China.
DaimlerChrysler executive board member Ruediger Grube last week
started talking to potential buyers of Chrysler.
Chrysler booked an operating loss of one-point-five (b) billion
dollars last year.
