GM STOCK DELISTING
(2007-04-20)
(wgvu) - DETROIT (AP) - General Motors says it plans to delist its common
stock from trading next month on the London Stock Exchange.
It's part of a plan to concentrate on the New York Stock
Exchange.
The automaker says the U-K's Financial Services Authority
authorized the shares to be delisted at the start of trading May
21st.
G-M recently has delisted shares from the Toronto, Chicago and
Philadelphia stock exchanges in North America. It also has delisted
from the Frankfurt and Dusseldorf exchanges in Germany.
G-M says delisting will eliminate fees charged by other
exchanges. It also will avoid regulatory requirements on companies
with shares trading on exchanges in more than one location.
