HOSPITAL NUPTIALS
(2007-04-20)
(wgvu) - WARREN, Mich. - A son's wish to have his ailing father at his
wedding came true -- thanks to the hospital staff that made it
happen.
Tim Casey says he originally planned to marry Nicole Womack
during a simple ceremony alongside his father's bed at Saint John
Macomb Hospital in Warren.
His father Cecil was diagnosed with cancer about ten months ago
during a return trip to Michigan. Both men now live in Florida.
Hospital workers coordinated a chapel ceremony this week that
included cake, sparkling white grape juice, music and gift-shop
flowers.
Cecil Casey's hospital bed wouldn't fit through the hospital
chapel doors. So workers found a stretcher so he could be next to
his son.
Tim Casey followed his retiring father to Florida in 1992.
