(2007-04-20)
(wgvu) - DTE ENERGY SAYS ITS CUSTOMERS CAN NOW TAKE ADVANTAGE OF ITS RENEWABLE ENERGY PROGRAM.
GREENCURRENTS ALLOWS CONSUMERS TO CHOOSE FROM SOURCES, SUCH AS BIOMASS, WIND AND SOLAR POWER FOR ALL OR PART OF THEIR HOME'S ELECTRICITY USAGE. THEY WOULD PAY AN EXTRA MONTHLY FEE RANGING FROM
ABOUT $2.50 TO$ 15.00.
DTE HAS 2.2 MILLION CUSTOMERS. THE UTILITY HOPES THAT 22,000 OF THEM WILL JOIN IN THE NEXT 3 YEARS.
MICHIGAN SOURCES OF RENEWABLE ENERGY WILL POWER THE
GREENCURRENTS PROGRAM. DTE HAD CONSIDERED BUYING POWER FROM OUT
