MAHINDRA WILL SELL IN U.S.
(2007-04-19)
(wgvu) - Mahindra and Mahindra plans to start selling a
new line of vehicles in the U-S in 2009.
The Indian automaker unveiled the sport utility vehicles and
trucks today.
Roughly 50-thousand vehicles are expected to be sold in the U-S.
Mahindra and its U-S importer say the vehicles will be set apart
from competitors by their sleek design, affordability and fuel
efficiency.
Final pricing has not been determined, but Mahindra's two-door
single-cab pickup truck will be offered in the low
20-thousand-dollar range. Its four-door truck and five-door S-U-V
will be in the mid-20-thousand range.
A high-end version of the four-door truck will be in the high
20-thousand-dollar range.
Each is expected to get 28 to 35 miles per gallon.
