QUOTAS-LAWSUIT

(wgvu) - A PONTIAC FIREFIGHTER HAS SETTLED HIS QUOTAS LAWSUIT AGAINST THE CITY AND HIS UNION.
ARTHUR FRANTZ HAD CLAIMED THAT HE WAS PASSED OVER FOR A PROMOTION IN 2002 BECAUSE HE'S WHITE.
THE CITY AND UNION AGREED TO PAY FRANTZ $60,000 ON TOP OF THE $18,000 HE GOT IN LATE 2005 AFTER BEING PROMOTED TO
LIEUTENANT.
A JUSTICE DEPARTMENT AGREEMENT LED PONTIAC TO END A PRACTICE DESIGNED TO HIRE AND PROMOTE MORE WOMEN AND MINORITIES IN ITS FIRE DEPARTMENT.
CITY ATTORNEY ERIC GOLDSTEIN SAYS THE CITY SETTLED TO CUT ITS LOSSES.
