RUNWAY ACCIDENT

(wgvu) - A JETLINER MAKING A LANDING IN A
SNOWSTORM WITH 49 PEOPLE ABOARD SKIDDED OFF THE RUNWAY IN TRAVERSE
CITY EARLY TODAY.
AUTHORITIES SAY NO ONE WAS HURT.
THE PINNACLE AIRLINES JET WAS LANDING AT CHERRY CAPITAL AIRPORT
FROM MINNEAPOLIS WHEN THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED ABOUT 12:45 AM EDT.
AN AIRLINE SPOKESMAN SAYS THE PLANE COULDN'T BRAKE WHEN IT
LANDED.
SNOW WAS FALLING HEAVILY AND THE TEMPERATURE WAS ABOUT 32
DEGREES AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT.
THE PLANE REMAINED STUCK IN THE MUD SHORTLY AFTER DAWN TODAY.
FEDERAL SAFETY EXPERTS WILL BE SEEKING THE CAUSE OF THE
ACCIDENT.
