(wgvu) - COLD AND SNOW ARE PERSISTING IN MICHIGAN ALMOST
THREE WEEKS INTO SPRING.
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED WINTER STORM WARNINGS
AND ADVISORIES THROUGH TOMORROW MORNING FOR THE NORTHERN TWO-THIRDS
OF THE LOWER PENINSULA.
UP TO EIGHT INCHES OF SNOW COULD FALL IN THE AREA STRETCHING
FROM LUDINGTON ON LAKE MICHIGAN TO BAD AXE, NEAR THE TIP OF THE
THUMB.
THE NATION'S COLD SPOT YESTERDAY WAS IN THE UPPER PENINSULA'S
MARQUETTE COUNTY, WHERE A READING OF MINUS-EIGHT WAS REPORTED IN
CHAMPION.
AFTER EXPECTED STATEWIDE HIGHS IN THE UPPER 30S TO LOW 40S,
TEMPERATURES AREN'T EXPECTED TO REACH THE 50S UNTIL EARLY NEXT
WEEK.
