WORKPLACE SHOOTING
(2007-04-11)
(wgvu) - A RECENTLY FIRED ACCOUNTANT HAS BEEN CHARGED WITH
MURDER, TWO DAYS AFTER POLICE SAY HE KILLED A FORMER CO-WORKER AND
WOUNDED TWO OTHERS.
ANTHONY LACALAMITA III APPEARED THIS MORNING IN TROY DISTRICT COURT IN
THE SHOTGUN ATTACK AT GORDON ADVISORS IN SUBURBAN DETROIT.
OAKLAND COUNTY PROSECUTORS CHARGED THE 38-YEAR-OLD TROY MAN WITH
FIRST-DEGREE MURDER IN THE DEATH OF MADELINE KAFOURY. SHE WAS A
RECEPTIONIST AT THE FIRM.
HE'S ALSO CHARGED WITH TWO COUNTS OF ATTEMPTED MURDER IN THE
SHOOTINGS OF PAUL RIVA AND ALAN STEINBERG.
OTHER CHARGES INCLUDE THREE COUNTS OF POSSESSION OF A FIREARM
AND ONE COUNT OF FLEEING AND ELUDING POLICE.
HE REMAINS JAILED WITHOUT BOND AND IS EXPECTED BACK IN COURT IN THE NEXT TWO WEEKS FOR A HEARING THAT WILL DETERMINE IF THERE'S ENOUGH EVIDENCE TO SEND HIM TO TRIAL.
