OVERDOSE DEATH
examiner's office says a 19-year-old woman whose body was kept in
an apartment died of an accidental drug overdose.
Police found a small quantity of heroin in the Canton Township
apartment where Ashley Pierce's corpse was found.
Police recovered Pierce's body March Sixth after receiving an
anonymous tip that a woman was living with a corpse.
Police in the Detroit suburb say the woman posed as Pierce after
her death so she could scam Pierce's father out of nearly
two-thousand dollars. Police and prosecutors continue to
investigate the case.
The roommate has not been charged, and there is no evidence of
foul play in Pierce's death.
